Redesigning Financial Webpages for a Global Audience

Client: Nonviolent Peaceforce

Project Summary:

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

I worked as a marketing assistant to redesign and develop Nonviolent Peaceforce’s financial webpages. The nonprofit faced a challenge with their global audience, who had distinct financial media preferences. To meet these preferences, they created an additional digital booklet. But, the existing web page setup made it difficult for users to find the booklet that matched their needs. The new webpages were designed to link to both booklets and effectively guide users to the right one.

Role & Duration:

My responsibilities included redesigning and developing financial web pages using WordPress and Oxygen. I crafted the designs in Adobe and Figma. I worked on this project from April 15, 2024 to June 15, 2024.

THE PROBLEM:

Nonviolent Peaceforce’s global audience had diverse financial media preferences, and to cater to these, they created a second digital booklet. However, the existing webpage setup made it challenging for users to navigate and find the booklet that matched their needs. The website needed an update to link to both booklets clearly and guide users to the appropriate one.

GOALS:

The primary goal was to develop two finance pages, including a fun and engaging version, to be updated and displayed annually on the organization’s website. Easy updates were essential to the future workflow process. These pages needed to showcase their two digital finance booklets effectively while ensuring they were accessible and engaging to a global audience.

DESIGN PROCESS:

1. Reviewing the Current Webpages & Target Audience: 

I began by thoroughly reviewing the existing financial webpages to understand the structure and user flow. I reviewed target audience documents to gain a better understanding of the audience needs.

2. Meeting with the External Relations Manager:

I collaborated with the External Relations Manager to gain insights into the specific needs and problems faced by the marketing team.

3. Creating Initial Design Solutions:

I developed several design solutions that could guide users to the correct booklet, taking into account user experience. Then, I presented the designs to the External Relations Manager for initial feedback.

4. Revamping Design Solutions:

Based on the feedback received, I refined the design solutions to better meet their needs and design preferences.

5. Developing the First Draft:

Using WordPress and Oxygen, I developed the first draft of the redesigned pages, ensuring the design was both functional and visually appealing.

6. Presenting Designs:

The first draft was presented to both the External Relations Manager and the Donor Engagement Manager for further feedback.

7. Finalizing the Design:

After receiving feedback, I made the necessary updates to the design to ensure it aligned with the goals of the project. Afterwards, the designs were published to reflect the 2023 financial highlights.

RESULTS:

The redesigned webpages provided a clear and effective way for the nonprofit’s global audience to navigate and choose the booklet that best matched their needs. 

The project also delivered a template that could be easily updated annually, ensuring future financial pages would maintain consistency and usability. The new digital space for housing both booklets enhanced the nonprofit’s ability to communicate its financial highlights to a diverse audience.
